100 Years of Rotary Netherlands
In 2023 Rotary will be 100 years old in the Netherlands.
Rotaryclub Amsterdam was the first club in the Netherlands to be founded on January 2, 1923, and Rotaryclub Utrecht followed on March 13. This will be celebrated extensively by all districts and clubs.
On Saturday 28 January 2023, the celebration of 100 years of Rotary in the Netherlands will start with a special afternoon and evening program in the Amsterdam City Theater or ITA (International Theater Amsterdam). Save the date in your diary!

to celebrate the centenary of RC Amsterdam and the start of
Experience 100 years of Rotary in the Netherlands.
The '100 years of Rotary relay' of Rotary and Rotaract will also start on Saturday 28 January 2023. In 2023 we will go from district to district, cycling from club to club, walking, running, etc.
That is a total of more than 5,000 km to reach all more than 500 clubs in the 7 districts. Together we will certainly succeed in connecting all Rotary and Rotaract clubs in 2023.
The idea is that each club takes care of a trajectory and passes the baton to the next club. Upwind or tailwind, in rain or shine, on to the next club or district.
That will provide a lot of publicity for our clubs and charities. For example, a club can have the kilometers sponsored, provide the disabled with a fun day with the relay, or organize a festive transfer.

For historical reasons, the first phase will move from the Amsterdam region to the Utrecht region. After the celebration of RC Utrecht's birthday on March 11, 2023, the relay will continue through the country.
At the end of the year, the baton will be handed over to Belgium, where the first club will celebrate its centenary in 2024.
In each of the 7 districts, one of Rotary's 7 areas of focus will be highlighted. Special activities are organized around this theme. This is the breakdown by district.
Each club is part of the relay. Think of a fun and sustainable way to complete the relay. And organize activities in the theme of your district. In this way we show what Rotary is doing and how versatile we are, real people of action! Have a great day with your club and work together with clubs in the area. And even better if we also raise a large amount for a good cause.
